At Green Coast Rubbish, we are committed to safeguarding the environment and promoting sustainable waste management practices.

Our range of services extends beyond mere disposal – we believe in recycling, repurposing, and minimizing the impact of waste on our planet. Here’s how we’re making a difference, one step at a time:

  • Mattresses

Mattress Recycling in Hope, BC will pick up your old mattress for a nominal fee or you can drop it off yourself. Each mattress received is stripped down to its components which are then recycled and put to new use. By having your mattress recycled you are helping to keep reusable materials out of our landfills. Read More

  • Drywall

Drywall (also known as gyproc, gypsum and sheetrock) can be extremely harmful to both humans and animals if not disposed of properly. Fortunately, it is highly recyclable, and the best way to keep it out of landfills is to contact a professional (like us!) We work with New West Gypsum Recycling Ltd., the world leader in the safe recycling of Gyproc.

  • Electronics

Electronics waste continues to be one of the most harmful substances to the natural environment, so it’s important to never throw electronics in the garbage. There are several places in the Lower Mainland that will safely dispose of unwanted electronics. Alternatively, you can call us, and we will ensure your electronics junk is disposed of properly and doesn’t end up in a landfill.  Read More

  • Wood

On January 1, 2015, Metro Vancouver implemented a ban on the disposal of clean wood.
For the purposes of the ban, clean wood includes solid wood, lumber and pallets that are unpainted, unstained, untreated and glue free. Clean wood must be properly recycled, or you risk paying a hefty surcharge. Fortunately, the fee to recycle clean wood at a Metro Vancouver facility costs less than the garbage disposal fee.  Read More

  • Furniture

There is no reason for furniture that is in reasonably good condition to be taking up precious space in the landfill. You have many other options when it comes to getting rid of your old furniture including selling, refinishing or donating it to a worthy community organization. We partner with a number of Lower Mainland charitable organizations, so give us a call if you’d like us to haul away your old furniture and it will be donated and put to good (re)use.  Read More
