What is Deconstruction?
Deconstruction is a new and almost reformed way of doing traditional demolition projects. In Metro Vancouver, over 3000 residential and commercial buildings are demolished every year. This means around 50 tonnes of waste per demolition get tossed into landfills every year. Deconstruction involves salvaging or recycling materials to reduce waste and keep more materials out of the landfill. It’s a more labour-intensive process than traditional demolition but has an impact on our environment that we’ll be able to see long down the road.
When the Green Coast Rubbish team takes on your deconstruction project, we strive to develop the most cost effective plan for you while keeping your work site clean and safe. On top of that, we carry a minimum of $5 million in liability insurance.
Let us take care of your residential or commercial deconstruction project now!

Our Deconstruction Team In Action
Although every building and project is different from another, we always determine the appropriate course of action according to your needs. This step will include how the deconstruction is to be carried out and what equipment will be needed. This may require a visit to the work site.
In some cases, hazmat report, permits, engineers reports, and the disconnection of utilities are necessary, while in other cases it is not. Regardless of how difficult the project is, we make sure that all the necessary steps are taken to get your job done right.
We dispose your materials responsibly. We work with all kinds of organizations to ensure all materials are disposed in a way that’s safe for the environment and maximizes the reuse potential of the material. We can supply you with a diversion certificate which highlights where the materials went to and the weights diverted.
What Metro Vancouver Homeowners Are Saying About Green Coast Rubbish
“Green Coast Rubbish provided deconstruction services for me during a recent condo renovation project and I would highly recommend their services. Eamonn responded to my initial enquiry right away and came for a site visit the very next day. The crew were in to complete the job a few days later. The crew came on time and were absolutely amazing – hard working, polite, and very professional. They did an incredible job with the demo and cleaned up very well after. They were very careful to ensure that there would be no issues with other owners in the building re noise and dirt. The cost was very reasonable and I will definitely hire Green Coast Rubbish for my next renovation project. “
